Digital connectivity is rapidly reshaping how displaced people and authorities relate to each other. Often framed around the power of the state to border and surveille, there are also ways that displaced people use digital social networks to build social cohesion and a sense of 'place' during their journeys. Charles Martin-Shields will discuss how displaced people and authorities negotiate power in rapidly changing digital contexts.
